BOARD OF TRUSTEES NEWSLETTER
26th September 2011
Dear Parents/Caregivers,
With the end of Term 3 pending, the Board
would like to take this opportunity to give you all an update for the term.
Our congratulations go to all the management and staff
at Marist for a successful Catholic Character Review Report. I would like to share with you an excerpt from the completed report,
which has now been finalised and provided by the Catholic Schools Office.
“The hallmark of Marist School is that it is seen as a family.
Like an extended family, the Board of Trustees, PTFA, parents, staff, students, the Parish Priest and parishioners work together and
acknowledge warmly the support they receive from each other.’ ‘The school sincerely attempts to nurture the faith and the whole
potential of the children in its care, not only by what is done, but how it is done…in the spirit of Mary’ (Proprietor’s Representative).
The Reviewers observed that it is done from the heart, with joy, enthusiasm, unity, warmth and generosity.”
Once
again congratulations to our management and staff for such a good result.
We extend our warmest ‘good lucks’ to the budding actors/actresses
currently starring in the Junior Syndicate production of ‘Alice in Wonderland’. Their show premieres on 4/5 October at 11 am and I
know the children will appreciate your attendance. Special thanks to all the Junior Syndicate teachers for helping us bring these
wonderful experiences to life for our children.
We would also like to thank our very busy and proactive PTFA for their help in taking
on the Alberton entrance renovation project. Their organisational and financial support of Stage 1 of this multi-stage project is
exciting and we look forward to seeing this space evolve to be better utilised. I know you will show them your support in any way
possible as they move to progress this project forward.
A successful Parent Information Evening was recently held for parents interested
in finding out more about the role of a school trustee. Our thanks to the parents who attended and all appreciated the information
provided and the chance to learn more about this important role.
Election nominations will soon open for the 2011 Trustee Election.
If you are interested in becoming a school trustee, we welcome your application. The following dates are the key dates to be aware
of. Remember any parent can make a valuable contribution as a school trustee, so whether you are new to the school or an ‘old hand’,
we welcome and encourage your involvement.

Board Takes Office: 25 November
We have included a brief information hand-out with this

read as we would welcome as many nominations as we can muster.
With school holidays quickly approaching and the Rugby World Cup keeping
us all on the edge of our seats, we wish you an enjoyable spring and we will be in touch again in Term 4.
Thanks and regards
