This is our final newsletter for Term 3 and we have lots of exciting news to report. The PTFA have agreed to fund Stage 1 of the upgrade to the old sandpit area by Room 1. This project was initiated by the Board of Trustees who sought input from school staff, the community and you, our families. See below for how you can help. Our other exciting news is that the school now has a new sound/PA system which we look forward to seeing in action at many upcoming events. A big thank you to our school community for your generous contributions to our fundraising events which have made this purchase possible. We extend a warm welcome to new families to the school who have children starting Term 4 this year and Term 1 next year. A special welcome morning tea was held after assembly on 23 September. Enjoy the holidays and see you next term!

• Building Project: Upgrade of Old Sandpit Area - Stage 1

Plans are underway to revamp the area by Room 1 (formerly a sandpit).  Stage 1 is: New stairs constructed and a walkway established to provide a clearer entrance way into the school from Alberton Avenue. Subsequent stages will see the old sandpit transformed into a much more child friendly, usable space. Bradley Williams, a dad in the school, has very kindly offered to oversee the construction work. We would like to get this project started soon but we need volunteers to do it. So if you’d like to help and have the time and/or any skills or materials to offer please contact Marena Hubbers or leave a message at the office.

Yummy Fruit Sticker Collection

This promotion is going really well with lots of stickers collected.  Get your sheets and stickers in before the end of term as they need to be collated and handed in so our school receives as much FREE sports gear as possible!  And remember there is a draw to win one of 27 RWC All Blacks Kids Jerseys. Details are on the website www.yummyfruit.co.nz

Yummy Fruit is sold at Alberton Foods, 4 Square, New World, Pak’nSave, Nosh and selected greengrocers.

UPDATE: Movie Night

Thank you to everyone who supported this event and to our sponsors, Ngatarawa Wine, Nosh Food, Life Pharmacy St Lukes, Trilogy skincare, Whittakers and The Aromatherapy Company.

We raised over $1000 for the school.  We have received a lot positive feedback about the choice of movie and theatre so we shall be back to the Lido again next year!
